Would you like to spend a few hours or even a day in the company of a pair of lambs? The cuteness of these little babies will be something that will stay with you forever. If you think this is something you would like to do then you may be the ideal transport volunteer for us.
The lambs who come into the care of Lamb Care Australia are placed with foster carers until they are fully weaned. They are then placed in a forever home where they live out the remainder of their natural lives. The location of our homes, both foster and forever, are spread across a large area of Victoria so often lambs are required to travel long distances. Transport volunteers are an essential part of keeping the organisation running.
If you would like to become a transport volunteer the following are necessary requirements:
- a car
- a current licence
- an animal carrier (we recommend a medium sized dog carrier)
- time to travel distances ranging from a round trip of 2 -3 hours to a whole day
- a love of the company of 2 little lambs
