Welcome to Lamb Care Australia
Lamb Care Australia is an organisation whose primary focus is the rehoming of abandoned or orphaned lambs. We aim to raise awareness about winter lambing and the impact it has on the animals affected by this industry. Up to 15 million lambs die within the first 48 hours of life, each winter, across Australian farms. The most common cause of these deaths being malnutrition and/or hypothermia. Lambs who are surrendered to us each receive initial veterinary attention and, when necessary, remain with one of our critical carers until their health is assured. They then live in one of the homes of our growing network of foster carers until they are weaned after which they are sent to one of our forever homes.
